The department of Biotechnology aims at giving its students a basic foundation in the subject, and also giving an exposure to a few of the areas in Biotechnology through a structured program and extensive lab work. In the undergraduate programme, Biotechnology is studied as one of the three majors.

Certificate/Diploma Courses Offered The Department of Biotechnology, under the Autonomy scheme offers Diploma courses of 10 months duration to cater to the academic demands of interested students. These courses are structured to align students for higher education in India and abroad and also to motivate them towards a research career.
