It is the discipline most concerned with understanding change. Virtually every subject has a history and can be analyzed and interpreted in historical perspective and context. A study of History provides a context for all knowledge. Virtually every subject has a history and can be analyzed and interpreted in historical perspective and context.

Another reason to study history: it's fun. History combines the excitement of exploration and discovery with the sense of reward when you figure out the hows and the whys! In an ever-changing world, understanding our history becomes all the more necessary.

As a student of History, you have learned to communicate orally and in writing. You can see a shift in focus from "what I do" to "what I can do." Liberal-arts majors in particular are the "what I can do" people.
