Mount Carmel College was shortlisted from 10 other colleges by Robert Bosch Engineering and Business Solutions Limited to be the host to a prestigious German language course. The 2 year language course comprises three levels- A1, A2 and B3. With the completion of the three levels a student will have a sound knowledge of the language and its usage. The objectives of the department are:
- To provide a basic knowledge of German.
- To start training students in German from an early stage.
- As the need and prominence of the language is increasing, it is vital to train students.
To help enhance the students' grasp of the language, the teachers take a monolingual approach to teaching. The students are taught a very basic curriculum consisting of-

- Numbers
- Names of the Days
- Greetings
- How to make appointments
- Different professions
- Basic information about Germany etc.
