Infrastructure Facilities
MCC has had a tradition of offering its students the best facilities and opportunities. Overview: Mount Carmel College is a beautiful campus with large trees and open spaces.
Mount Carmel College is housed in a clean, green and eco-friendly campus spread over 9.5 acres in central Bangalore. The college has another 8 acres for its PG and Research Centers.
MCC has sophisticated labs, new generation teaching/learning aids a well equipped audiovisual room, audio recording and editing studio. There are 3 conference halls, 4 auditoriums which can accommodate up to 1500 people.
For the convenience of the students and staff members the campus also has a bank, transport facilities, canteen, food and drinks kiosks, water purifiers, an independent 400kVa transformer and 5 generators, pay phones, Wi-Fi facility, books and stationary shop, a prayer room and various other facilities and amenities.
MCC has one of the best library-cum-information centers in Bangalore, with fully computerized UG and PG sections and over 91,000 books, a good number of national and international journals, a huge collection of CDs and DVDs which can be accessed manually and digitally.
MCC has a good hostel with comfortable boarding & lodging, study & recreation facilities.
The campus features 8 major blocks with well-ventilated classrooms. There are large, airy and bright classrooms where heated debates and arguments take place.
For the compulsive reader, MCC has three enormous libraries catering to the needs of the Pre-University, Degree and Post Graduate students with well stocked and inviting array of books. You are also allowed access to over 70,000 volumes, several periodicals, audio and video tapes. In addition, several Departments have their own Departmental Libraries.
Students can also utilise photocopy services for their research.
The hostel provides a home away from home to its students who live in perfect harmony with each other. In fact the hostelites have formed a sisterhood that is the envy of other students in college.
If you ever need a sympathetic ear or somebody to turn to for advice you can always approach a counselor at the counselling centre. A team of dedicated and qualified counselors are always available to help students deal with emotional distress.
If you are the sort of person who is prone to accidents and is always covered with bruises then there is a campus infirmary with a doctor to heal your wounds.
Board room - High thinking and brains storming takes place in this room and vital decisions are taken in this Board Room.
Staff Rest Room - When you are tired and ill the Staff Rest Room invites the faculty member to relax a while and to rejuvenate themselves.
Non Residential Student Centre - When you do not have your class and finished your reference work in Library there is a Non Residential Student Centre for relaxation and to meet your friends together.
For the spiritually inclined and for those of you who like to make deals with God before exams a chapel with serene surroundings for prayer can be found on campus. There is also a prayer room in the main building.
If you are ever troubled by hunger pangs in between classes, a couple of canteens and a few kiosks on the campus are always at your disposal. You can have delicious meals here at very affordable prices.
The bookstore is a counter permanently in place to sell prescribed texts, stationary and even an occasional gift item
UCO Bank has opened an extension counter within the college premises to facilitate payment of fees and offer convenient monetary transactions for Carmelites.
When you are ready to leave at the end of the day, your two-wheeler awaits you in the parking lot. If not, there are always the college vans which travels all round the city, making commuting easier for both students and teachers.
