Admissions Procedure

The admission policy ensures special consideration to the differently abled, economically backward, scheduled castes and tribes, backward communities and the catholic minority. Except for these special categories, the rest of the seats are allotted purely on merit.

    Candidates may apply to the combination of their choice by submitting a properly filled Application Form at the college office.

    Application Forms may either be downloaded or bought from the college office. (Refer: Admission Process)

    In addition to the college application form, candidates have to register separately for each entrance test being attempted.

    Registration for the tests opens from 5 April, 2010 to 21 April, 2010.

    Registration will be done between 10:30 am to 1:00 pm at the college office. Candidates may also register on the day of the test, though it is advised that they do so in advance.

    Registration fee for entrance test: Rs.200/- .

    Communication Studies
    Date 28 May, 2010
    Time 9am onwards
    Venue College premises
    Note: Students can register for Communication Studies Exam on either of the two aforementioned dates. The entrance test in French is only for those who wish to take up the CFS combination and study French as a main subject. Candidates interested in CFS will also have to clear the entrance test for Communication Studies.For all the other courses (which do not have an Entrance Examination), students are requested to sumbit their duly filled application forms at the office.

    • B.A ADMISSIONS - 2011-2012

      Entrance Test Dates Announced

      • For Communication Studies (PyEC & CFS): May 5th, 2011 at 9 am and June 2nd, 2011 at 9 am. (The 2nd date is in case there are seats available.)
      • Journalism Entrance test dates: 27th April 2011 and, if any seats available, 3rd June 2011, 9 am onwards.
      • For Optional French (CFS): 7th May 2011, 9:30 am onwards.

      Walk-in Interview Dates to be Announced Soon

      Requirements For Walk – In Interview

      1. Application form duly filled in with the two attested copies of the marks
      2. Passport and Two stamp size photographs and One pass port size family photograph.
      3. SC/ST candidates – Caste Certificate issued by the Revenue Officer, with a validity of 5 years.
      4. Category IIA, IIB, IIIA, IIIB – Caste and Income Certificates issued by the Revenue Officer in the format prescribed by the Govt.
      5. Roman Catholic (R.C.) – Latest Extract of Baptism Certificate and Letter from Parish Priest.
      6. Full fees to be paid on the day of interview and admission.
      7. Fees once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

      Dates for other entrance tests will be declared shortly. Some B.A., B.Sc. & B.Com admissions would be based on marks at a walk-in interview.

      B.Com Industry Integrated Entrance Examination will be held on 4th May 2011 starting from 10.00 am

      Requirements For Walk – In Interview

      2. Passport and Two stamp size photographs and One pass port size family photograph.
      3. SC/ST candidates – Caste Certificate issued by the Revenue Officer, with a validity of 5 years.

      B.COM ADMISSIONS 2011- 12

      WALK IN INTERVIEW FOR B.COM / BMTT/ B.com Industry integrated

      For students of Mount Carmel P.U. College with 75% marks and above in the aggregate, Non M.C.C. students with 90% marks and above in the aggregate will be on 12 May, 2011 between 9.30 a.m to 12.30 p.m & 2.00 p.m to 3.30 p.m.

      Submission of the forms for PUC Board Students For B.Com / BMTT/ B.Com Industry Integrated

      MCC students having below 75% and Non MCC students having below 90% submit the form by 12 May, 2011.

  2. Stage 1: Check for Eligibility

    First check to see if you are eligible for the course. Go to the web page that enlists the requirements for your chosen course. If you satisfy these conditions, feel free to apply.

    Stage 2: Collect your form

    Application Forms can now be downloaded from the college website as well as collected from the office.

    The dates for the issue of application forms are as follows:
    1. I BA \ BSc \ B.Com: On the day of the announcement of the Karnataka PUC or 12th Std. ICSE results, whichever happens to be earlier.
    2. I MCom and I MCA: On the day of the Bangalore University III Year results.
    3. PGDBA and PGDMIS: The first week of January.

    Note: All admissions to the second and third years are subject to the availibility.

    Stage 3: Take the Entrance Test where applicable

    If you are applying for BBM, PyEC & CFS, PyEJ & HJTT, Industry Integrated BCom, find out the date fixed for the objective type examination. Ensure that you take the examination for it will not be repeated. For all post graduate courses and BBM you also have to participate in group discussion.

    Stage 4: Submit your form

    Ensure that your form is filled as per instructions.
    Enclose a photocopy of the statement of marks for the last examination passed. Do not enclose originals. While submitting the application form at the college office pay a fee of Rs.200.

    Stage 5: Check if selected for the Interview

    The college notice board displays the selected numbers and the date and time of the interview. Make sure you check it regularly. If you miss the date, you could lose your seat.

    Stage 6: Attend the Interview

    Bring your parents and carry the following with you

    1. Two Stamp size photographs
    2. Original Marks card and two photocopies of the same
    3. Original Transfer Certificate
    4. Certificate of Good Conduct
    5. Migration Certificate( if you are not a Karnataka SSLC\PUC\DEGREE student)
    6. Original and three copies of Caste Certificate (for SC, ST and BT students only)

    Stage 7: Pay the fees

    This has to be done on the day of the interview. The fees are printed on the application form or notified on the College notice board.

    Wait for the opening day and the Orientation Programme. The Orientation Programme is designed to give you a taste of life at Mount Carmel College-your second home for the next few years.

Handover the Application form at College office and all other transaction to be done through the College office in person only.

Fees for every course will be notified at the beginning of the academic year. Once admitted, fees will not be refunded. Students discontinuing a course will be required to pay the entire course fee to be eligible for issue of transfer certificate.

Students applying for scholarship and free studentship will pay the tuition fees until the awards are announced. Concessions will be withdrawn if unsatisfactory progress or behaviour is observed.

Bangalore Univeristy norms expects Under Graduate Students to study 3 core subjects over 6 semesters. In addition there are 2 compulsory subjects over 4 semesters - General English and II language under autonomous. Mount Carmel offers a wide range of choices for II language.
